Persian meter recording database
As part of my broader research project on Persian meters and their associated musical intuitions, I have prepared an online database of recordings featuring musical performances of metrical Persian poetry. These recordings are drawn from religious ceremonies (nowhe), in which metrical poems are rhythmically sung and participants beat their chests in time with the poem's rhythm. (Click here)
Iranian languages catalogue
I contributed to the development of this catalogue, which provides introductions to seven Iranian languages, briefly describing their most salient phonological, morphological, and syntactic characteristics. It also includes discussions of each language’s demographic profile, writing system, and socio-political status. The project is part of a larger NSF-funded initiative on Iranian languages, led by Simin Karimi at the University of Arizona. (Click here)
PersianDee
PersianDee is a website I created years ago during high school and college to teach Persian to English speakers. It offers grammar lessons, reading passages with audio, and interactive tests. (Click here)
UATracker
UATracker is web-based a tool for managing and performing advanced search in a database of ultrasound image frames of the tongue (extracted from ultrasound videos) used in phonetic and phonological research. The tool supports searches based on phonological environment, word type, frame position relative to the target segment, and more. I developed the tool using Django for the Arizona Phonological Imaging Lab (APIL), under the supervision of Diana Archangeli. (Click here to see the code)
Hiaki dictionary
This Hiaki (Uto-Aztecan) dictionary is implemented as a Java application. It identifies root forms from conjugated nouns and verbs and offers spelling correction. The underlying lexical database is based on the dictionary by Molina, Valenzuela, and Shaul (1999). (Click here to download the app)
